Fagaceae - Oak Family
The Oak family (Fagaceae) in the boreal forest is characterized by its iconic deciduous trees, featuring lobed leaves and producing acorns. Only few species can endure the cold winters of the boreal forest, and those that do are limited to the very southern boundaries of it.
